Flat buyers duped of Rs 11L in Ggn, 6 booked

GURUGRAM: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday booked six persons for allegedly duping two flat consumers of Rs 11 lakh.
In the primary week of January, two brothers, Sandeep and Ashok Sharma, have been contacted through a person who claimed to have referred to as from the place of business of one A-Plus realtor in Sector 49, according to the complaint. The caller allegedly introduced apartments to them in Andour Heights in Sector 71, under “control quota”. After the decision, the brothers went to the mentioned place of business on January 7.

“Inside the place of business, we met one Abhishek and one Anil Kothari who said they have been companions of A-Plus realtor. They claimed to be the accepted brokers on the market of apartments in Andour heights and introduced them to us under control quota,” the victim advised police.

He added, “We gave them Rs 11 lakh by means of two cheques value Rs 5.5 lakh every for the booking. They also gave us two post-dated cheques of the same worth and said that if the booking does now not get showed until February 25, shall we encash them.”

Interestingly, when Sandeep and Ashok didn't get the apartments after the cut-off date, the accused gave them a cheque of Rs 20,000 as hobby on the money.

“However, once we deposited the cheques, they bounced. We tried to touch them, however may now not. We also visited the place of business, but it surely was locked,” the complainant advised police.

After a initial investigation, an FIR was registered towards Abhishek, Anil Kothari and 4 others under IPC sections 406 (legal breach of believe), 420 (cheating) and 34 (common aim) of IPC at Sector 50 police station on Sunday.
