Firemen rescue Salt Lake woman trapped at home

KOLKATA: Firemen broke open the door of a Purbachal Housing Complex condominium in Salt Lake to rescue a sexagenarian whose hand got caught in the gap between the wall and her bed when she tried to pick up a drugs for her bed-ridden husband.

The woman, Alo Roy (67), was once making ready to present medications to her bed-ridden husband on Tuesday morning that had been kept on a windowsill in her bed room. The medication slipped from her hand and fell in the gap between the bed and a wall. She put her hand in the gap to pick up it up, but her hand got caught in the gap. When Roy didn't loose herself, she panicked. Realizing that she was once caught, Roy started shouting to attract her neighbours’ attention.

“We rushed to her condominium when we heard her cries, but couldn’t get in as the main door was once shut. We had no concept what was once taking place inside. We made up our minds to inform the police and the fire division,” mentioned neighbour Shukla Chakraborty.

Roy has a daughter who's married and does no longer keep in Kolkata. He husband Rabindra Mohan (72) can't move about because of ailments.

Soon, firemen broke the main door open and entered the condominium. “We found her lying at the edge of the bed by the wall and crying in pain. Her hand was once caught in the gap. Our males moved the bed and created extra space in the gap to loose her,” mentioned a senior fire division reliable.

Roy didn't sustain any major harm. “However, she suffered bruises and was once scared. We also administered some first assist,” he mentioned.
