Leopard intrudes Talodhi house, rescued

Chandrapur: Foresters of Talodhi range rescued a male leopard that had intruded a space in Savangi village after in a single day operations.
The beast had taken shelter in an attic of Rushidas Wadhai’s space to escape the wrath of a mob that used to be chasing it on the village streets on Wednesday evening.

Sources informed that the leopard had intruded the village at around eight.30pm pursuing domestic dogs. After other folks noticed the beast prowling in the village, they charged at it with sticks and clubs.

As the mob chased the leopard, it dashed into the home of Wadhais. While terrorized members of the family fled, the beast jumped into the attic thru broken planks and concealed there. On getting data, a crew of foresters led by means of RFO, Talodhi range, Abhilasha Sontakke, and a posse of Nagbhid police rushed to the spot. Hundreds of villagers had surrounded Wadhai’s space to ensure the beast could now not break out.


It used to be total darkish in the village following power outage due to thunderstorm. Thus all of the rescue operation used to be performed in the mild of battery powered torches. A cage used to be put below the attic to trap the beast and where used to be coated by means of protective net to make sure that the leopard does now not break out, mentioned Sontakke.

During wee hours, the beast jumped down and walked into the cage lured by means of a bait and were given trapped. Foresters right away coated the cage with the web and removed the animal from the village. It used to be later released in the wild after regimen scientific examination, officials mentioned.
