TIRUPUR: CB-CID sleuths on Tuesday exhumed four-year-old remains of a man from the burial floor near Valam bridge in the city to assemble samples for DNA test.


Muthuvel of Thiruchuzhi in Virudhunagar district had lodged a police complaint after his 25-year-old son Selvaraj went lacking in 2007. Since there was once no progress in the case, Muthuvel moved the Madurai bench of the Madras high courtroom in search of route to transfer the case to CB-CID. The case was once transferred to CB-CID on January three.


The HC was once informed that the photograph of an unidentified man, who was once found lifeless in Tirupur, matched with that of Selvaraj . The courtroom directed the investigation agency to habits DNA assessments to verify the declare.


In 2015, the Tirupur north police had recovered the body of a man from Thundukkadu and registered a case beneath phase 174 of CrPC. As they could now not verify his identification, police buried it in a burial floor.


On Tuesday, Virudhunagar CB-CID sleuths along with a clinical team from the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital amassed samples from the remains. The samples can be despatched to a recognised laboratory to find out whether or not the lifeless man was once Selvaraj.
