CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu college training department has allowed all government college teachers, who were suspended for protesting over every week in January, to join back to accountability.

In a round to all the chief and district educational officers on Wednesday, VC Rameswaramurugan, director of school training department, mentioned the decision used to be taken retaining students' welfare in thoughts. Practical tests are underway and board tests for Class X and XII students are across the corner.

However, the director has advised his subordinates to take action on charges framed towards those teachers and publish a report in reference to this immediately.

Over 1,500 teachers were suspended for collaborating in the protest organised via Joint Action Council of Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Organisations and Government Employees’ Organisations (JACTTO-GEO) from January 22 to 30. They demanded higher pay and revival of previous pension scheme.
