Pune: Peon held for duping businessman

PUNE: A peon from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) used to be arrested by the Kondhwa police on Tuesday night and his two accomplices were booked for allegedly duping a water tanker businessman to the song of Rs 38 lakh on the pretext of offering him gold biscuits at an affordable rate. The incident happened at quite a lot of puts in Kondhwa and Undri between June 6 and August 6, 2018.

The peon Chetan Sanjay Ghule (22) from Undri used to be produced prior to the Pune cantonment courtroom for in quest of custodial remand. He used to be remanded to magisterial custody and later released on bail.


Businessman Akash Kamthe (26) registered an FIR towards Ghule and others at Kondhwa police.


Police said Kamthe working business of supplying water tankers to housing societies at Kondhwa house got here involved with Gule and others. The suspects lured him to buy gold biscuits at an affordable rate for example at the rate of Rs 20,000 as an alternative of Rs 30,000 consistent with tola.


According to police, “Kamthe collected cash from his family members and pals and paid Rs 38 lakh to the suspects on the run via Ghule for buying 100 tola gold biscuits but he didn't receive the delivery. The suspects behind schedule the issue of handing over the gold on some or the opposite pretext. Gule later returned Rs 2 lakhs to Kamthe but he and others did not pay off all the amount.”


Assistant inspector Chetan Kale from the Kondhwa police said, “We arrested Ghule but nothing used to be recovered from him and he used to be later released on bail. We are in search of his two accomplices.”
