Man arrested for desecration of gurdwara in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: A 35-year-old “mentally-disturbed” man was once arrested through Sadar police for allegedly desecrating the holy Guru Granth Sahib in Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Palam Vihar Colony of Lalton space on Tuesday. The accused runs a store of lamination and photocopy in Jodhan village.


According to information, the accused paid obeisance and then approached Guru Granth Sahib and threw it away. Later he also scattered articles and garments on which the holy e book was once kept and ran away.


At round 11am, a devotee got here to the gurdwara, who discovered the desecrated holy e book and raised an alarm.


Inspector Sukhdev Singh, SHO, Sadar, and Ashwani Kumar, in-charge, Lalton police publish, reached the spot. The police got a CCTV photos and known the accused. The inspector stated the accused had long past to Australia round 4 years in the past where he worked as a driving force. After his visa got expired, he was once deported from the rustic. Since then, he has been disturbed and was once on medication. Police have registered a case.
