T’puram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who chaired a gathering to study the preparations for the Attukal pongala, has directed officials to verify correct cleanliness in spots the place devotees make the offerings.In the meeting held on the Attukal temple auditorium on Tuesday, the manager minister also urged the officials to set up cell toilet facilities for devotees.
Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran also emphasized the need to ensure clean surroundings throughout the pageant to be held on February 20. Mayor V Okay Prasanth stated sanitation workers have been deployed in all wards.

Meanwhile, city police have sought the carrier of Tamil Nadu police to watch out for routine offenders who involve in chain snatching. A workforce of 15 policemen, including ladies from Tamil Nadu police, will likely be deployed in and around the temple to carry out a checking drive as a part of the safety drive.

“There are a number of ladies from Tamil Nadu, who consult with town throughout the annual temple pageant season. They would consult with pageant venues and devote petty crimes capitalising at the crowd on the venues.
