Bihar’s urban teledensity second best in country

PATNA: Bihar stood second within the nation relating to urban teledensity after Kerala in 2017-18. With regard to infrastructure construction for the telecom community, the survey has said that 1,118 landline exchanges and 896 digital subscriber line get admission to multiplexers (DSLAM) for broadband services and products are operating in Bihar as on date.

The survey further said that 11 Wi-Fi hotspots are operating and 99 more are planned at vacationer and pilgrimage locations. “The state govt has initiated high-speed Fiber to Home (FTH) broadband connection challenge in collaboration with BSNL for neighborhood service centre and e-governance. It is first of all centered to hide 2,000 gram panchayats throughout Bihar below Phase-I and the remaining 3,200 gram panchayats below Phase-II of the challenge,” the record stated.
