'Upper caste quota a political drama by BJP'

AGRA: Uttar Pradesh minister and president of the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party OP Rajbhar, who has been not easy reservation in three classes of the backward castes in UP, has dubbed BJP’s transfer to grant quota to poor upper castes as a “political drama”. He stated this while interacting with media in Aligarh on Sunday.

Rajbhar, who’s birthday party is an ally of the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government, stated this reservation is unacceptable and BJP-led NDA government should instead enforce 27% reservations.

“If our alliance with BJP has to continue, then there should be a department of reservation quota of the backward castes into three classes — backward, very backward and most backward,” stated Rajbhar. “It will help BJP as there are nearly Five-Eight lakh electorate from the backward castes in every Lok Sabha constituency,” he claimed.

On being requested why used to be he speaking against BJP when he is a minister within the Yogi government, Rajbhar stated he “is the national president of Bhartiya Samaj Party and is an alliance spouse of BJP”. He further stated he speaks the reality and is not fearful of being called a “riot”.

Reacting at the lately announced pre-poll alliance of SP-BSP in UP for the approaching Lok Sabha polls, Rajbhar stated the combine will not be able to dent BJP’s ballot prospects within the state. “The SP-BSP alliance in UP is sort of a used cartridge. It may not impact the prospects of ruling BJP right here,” he stated while adding that nobody can ignore the fact that their coming in combination has indeed made the task somewhat difficult for BJP.
