UP: 16 students, 2 women injured after gas cylinder of school van explodes

BHADOHI (UP): At least 16 students and two women Saturday sustained burn accidents when a fuel cylinder of a faculty van exploded in Gyanpur town, an reputable said.

The incident took place at around 8am when the van used to be ferrying the students to a private faculty, district Justice of the Peace Rajendra Prasad said.

"The children are from class 1 to 5 and between 5-8 years of age," he said.

They suffered 30 to 90 consistent with cent burns, Prasad, including the situation of four is alleged to be vital.

He said the driver of the van, hooked up to the personal faculty, used to be the usage of a home fuel cylinder as fuel for the car.

Two women, who attempted to avoid wasting the students, also suffered burn accidents, Prasad said.


The students along side the women are present process treatment at a hospital in Varanasi.


"As soon as cylinder exploded, the driver fled the spot, and the two women sustained injuries while trying to save the children," the district Justice of the Peace said.


He said quickly after the incident the owner of the varsity locked the institute and fled.


A case has been registered and investigation is on, he said.
