Two-wheelers not allowed on flyovers during Uttarayan

SURAT: To be sure that safety of commuters right through Uttarayan competition, particularly two-wheeler riders, Surat police have banned their access on flyovers around the city for 2 days from January 14.


A notification in this connection used to be issued via assistant police commissioner, special branch, Vinay Shukla mentioning that access of two-wheelers shall be banned on flyovers right through the two days of Uttarayan competition. The two-wheeler riders will have the ability to go back and forth beneath the flyovers.


Sources stated sharp-edged manja and kites hold from overhead wires and poles on flyovers, which might prove unhealthy for the two-wheeler riders.


“The access of two-wheelers has been banned at the flyovers for 2 days for the security and safety of the riders. However, cars and other cars shall be allowed to go during the flyovers. The two-wheeler riders are recommended to take further precautions whilst riding at the roads right through the Uttarayan competition,” a police officer stated.
