Petrol and diesel prices begin upward climb

PUNE: Petrol and diesel prices have begun their upward climb once more from January 10 after ceaselessly falling for the reason that previous few months in the face of falling crude oil prices.


As against the January nine fee of Rs74.08 in line with litre, the cost of petrol rose to Rs74.65 in line with litre until January 11, while diesel worth rose to Rs64.65 in line with litre from the January nine worth of Rs64.04. A couple of days in the past, TOI had reported that petrol prices had fallen to a 13-month low this month. Sources from the All India Petrol Dealers Association (AIPDA) advised TOI that petrol prices are more likely to marginally move up further in the city and may cross the Rs75 in line with litre mark in the coming few days.


Petrol worth in Pune had fallen under the Rs75 in line with litre mark on December 30, 2018, when it dropped to Rs74.55 from Rs75.05 on December 29.


AIPDA assets stated that the cost of crude has now crossed 56 greenbacks in line with barrel, from the earlier 50 greenbacks in line with barrel. It was on October 18 that the petrol prices began declining and dropped under Rs85/litre on October 30. Since then, petrol and diesel prices had been falling.
