Bomb threat: Security beefed up at Sitamarhi stn

SITAMARHI: Security at Sitamarhi railway station has been beefed up following an anonymous letter threatening to explode the premises was once discovered on Friday morning, police mentioned. Train services and products at the Sitamarhi-Darbhanga rail section has been stopped after the letter was once discovered through Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel at round 10 am.

"The security of the entire railway station has been beefed up after we received the threat letter to blow up the railway station. Police, Sashashtra Seema Bal, GRP and RPF have launched search operation in and around the railway station," Sitamarhi additional superintendent of police Vijay Shankar Singh mentioned.

Sitamarhi district Justice of the Peace Ranjit Kumar Singh, on the other hand, mentioned the danger letter will have been written through a mentally unsound individual as it mentioned the sender had written to the Prime Minister 152 times for resolution of complaint but did not obtain any answer from him and hence, the decision to explode the railway station.


The letter, on the other hand, did not mention the character of the complaint and why it would now not be resolved, Singh mentioned.


The DM advised the people to not panic and mentioned a thorough probe will be ordered into the incident.


Train services and products at Sitamarhi railway station resumed round 2.40 pm after a disruption of round four.45 hours, East Central Railway (ECR) Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar mentioned.


He added that educate services and products have been stopped as a precautionary measure.
