All farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh to be waived off: Rajasthan minister

JAIPUR: UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal on Friday clarified that each one farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh would be waived off and now not mortgage defaults. In the order issued via the chief secretary previous had said that simplest farm mortgage defaults up to November 30 remaining yr would be regarded as for waived off. He said the priority may be being accorded to the loans of small and marginal farmers. Marginal farmer is the only whose land ownership of agricultural land is up to 1 hectare (2.five acre), whilst a 'small farmer' is whose land ownership of agricultural land is more than 1 hectare and up to 2 hectare (five acre).

All the agriculture mortgage up to Rs 2 lakh until the cut-off date fastened via the government is in consideration for waive off. He said, on the meeting it was additionally directed the officials to calculate the choice of beneficiaries and total mortgage amount concerned within the cooperative and land construction banks qualifying for write off.


After this calculation, the next move is to assess the agriculture mortgage from the nationalized banks. He said, “This matter would be taken up within the next meeting which will be convened within the next couple of days.”


Allaying the worry of finance, he said that the government may be arranging finances for the loans waive off. Replying to a question, Dhariwal said, “Since we've the assets to carry out the promise we're doing these kinds of exercises. The fund will be managed,” he assured.


On committee decision to waive off all loans of farmers who had committed suicide, he said the government is collecting the date from the district creditors. He said those farmers committed suicide as they didn't get remunerative worth for his or her produce would be the beneficiaries.
