Traffic diverted at Sec 15 junction, commuters caught unawares

Noida: In a significant diversion near Sector 15 metro station, commuters travelling against New Ashok Nagar in east Delhi is probably not allowed to shuttle straight from the Indian Oil intersection. The commuters will as a substitute need to take a U-turn about 330 metres forward on Udyog Marg and continue after taking a left to east Delhi.
The diversion, implemented on Friday night, caused trouble for a number of commuters as that they had no knowledge about it. The diversion is most probably so as to add to the congestion all through top morning hours if auto-rickshaws heading against Delhi, which duvet one of the vital lanes at the Udyog Marg, are not limited.

Lal Babu, president of the Noida Auto Rickshaw Chalak Association (NARCA), alleged that these auto-rickshaws, mostly with registration numbers of Delhi, are hand-in-glove with native policemen who permit them to face along the stretch and pick-up and drop commuters from the spot.

“These vehicles duvet the stretch all through the morning and night place of work hours, when the stretch is chock-a-block. They are allowed to face at the spot to ferry commuters to Delhi whilst there's no devoted stand for vehicles here,” he stated.

Gautam Budh Nagar SP (traffic) Anil Jha, however, dominated out a possible congestion. According to him, the traffic waft from Sector 15 metro station against New Ashok Nagar was low. “So, congestion at this level will probably be lower once the diversion is put in position as one part of the traffic is probably not allowed to merge at the Indian Oil intersection. There is a U-turn a few metres forward which the traffic going against east Delhi can use,” he stated.

Traffic, however, remained slow at the stretch from Naya Baans to Sector 15 from 6pm till past due on Friday because the traffic police placed temporary obstacles at the Sector 15 intersection without issuing an advisory.

Sumedha Vashisht, a commuter, stated vehicles had been moving at snail’s tempo. “At least, a previous caution could be given ahead of starting any such diversion,” she stated.

Assistant traffic inspector Avinash Saini agreed traffic was slow in portions of the stretch, however stated it did not purpose any huge snarl.
