Shows cancelled due to technical glitches

Thiruvananthapuram: Projection failure because of technical glitches ended in cancellation of 3 presentations on the second one day of the 23rd edition of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) on Saturday. The screenings at 2.30pm, 6pm and 8.30pm at Tagore Theatre were cancelled after the ability switcher of the 2k projector used to be damaged.
Organizers of the competition were compelled to get a projector on rent as the damaged one could be repaired via day after today only. ‘The Bed’ used to be being screened when the display used to be disrupted.

Meanwhile, the non-reservation coupon facility offered used to be withdrawn. The coupons were made to be had on the respective theatres two hours prior to each and every screening, for seats rather then the reserved ones.

“The facility used to be rolled up because of some technical problems,” mentioned Mahesh Panju, secretary of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the manager organizer of the event.

A total of 63 movies can be screened on the third day of the competition below more than a few categories. Six movies in global pageant, including Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Ee.Ma.Yau’ which could have the first of its three screenings on the fest, can be screened. Monica Lairana’s ‘The Bed’, Mostafa Sayari’s ‘The Graveless’, Tashi Gyeltshen’s ‘The Red Phallus’, Luis Ortega’s ‘El Angel’ and Temirbek Birnazarov’s ‘Night Accident’ are movies in the pageant phase.

Eighteen movies below the sector cinema class, including ‘Jumpman’ and ‘Midnight Runner’, could have their ultimate screenings on the fest on day three. Kim Ki-duk’s ‘Human Space, Time, and Human’, and Lars von Trier’s ‘The House That Jack Built’ can be screened at Nishagandhi.
