Schools to hold meet with DM over safety & RTE

PATNA: District Justice of the Peace Kumar Ravi will cling a gathering with the private school principals this month to study the safety and security arrangements and Right to Education (RTE) norms being followed via the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for India School Certificate Examination (CISCE) affiliated colleges in Patna district.

Ravi instructed this newspaper that the private colleges would learn in regards to the meeting in a couple of days. “The meeting can be a reminder for colleges to verify safety and security measures, including velocity governors in buses, CCTV cameras on school premises, preparations to take on herbal as well as man-made disasters among different facilities,” he mentioned and added that plenty of colleges had been still careless in regards to the safety of youngsters. Strict motion would be taken towards them, he mentioned.

More than 100 town colleges and various colleges’ associations, district programme officer and training officials are more likely to attend the meeting.

The DM mentioned since several colleges introduced the date of admission in kindergarten, it was once vital to remind them to take admission of less privileged kids as according to the RTE norms.

“It can be an important agenda of the meeting. All non-public colleges have to admit 25% children from weaker sections and deprived groups from their neighbourhoods for free training under the RTE Act,” Ravi mentioned and added: “There are 600- and-odd non-public colleges in Patna district registered under RTE and they're certain to practice the admission norms. According to information, three,337 underprivileged kids got admission in LKG in 2018-19 educational consultation.”

According to officials, 319 kids got admitted in 2011-12, 329 in 2012-13, 700 in 2013-14, 690 in 2014-15, 1,482 in 2015-16, 941 in 2016-17 and 1,486 in 2017-18.

Ravi mentioned the district management was once also making plans to expand a mobile software to keep a tab on colleges in a bid to increase the consumption of underprivileged kids in non-public colleges.
