Man who faked death to get claim inspired by TV

MOHALI: The accused who faked his death to get insurance claim was once impressed from a TV display. Police stated the nephew of the accused had watched this display on TV few months ago and made the plan together with his uncle.


Nahan police on Wednesday arrested a resident of Baltana for faking his death and killing a labourer to get insurance claim. Akash, 47, a belongings broker, along side his nephew, identified as Ravi Kumar have been arrested. The duo plied the sufferer with alcohol, put his frame in a automobile, poured oil and set it afire, stated police. ASP, Virender Thakur, stated, "During the interrogation the accused revealed that they watched an episode of TV show named 'Savdhan India' and got the idea to fake Akash's death to get insurance claim."


On November 20, a man was once found burnt in his automobile on Poanta highway in Nahan. It was once believed that Akash misplaced control over the car and it caught fireplace.
