Lioness found dead in Talala village farm

Rajkot: Partially decomposed carcass of a lioness was once discovered from a farm in Ablash Gir village of Talala taluka of Gir Somnath district on Tuesday. Forest division is still waiting for the forensic file to grasp the reason for loss of life.

According to forest division, a farmer from Ablash Gir village knowledgeable them about foul scent from his farm. Forest officials on inspection discovered in part decomposed carcass of a six-year-old lioness.

The villagers claimed that the lioness was once previous observed with 3 cubs, which have been missing. Deputy conservator of forest (DCF) Gir west, Dheeraj Mittal said, “There are no cubs in that house. Lionesses with cubs are under remark. But still we're verifying the declare.”

When asked about submit mortem file Mittal said, “The initial postmortem file has now not stated the reason for loss of life, so we have despatched the samples for further investigation.” He added, “There are no wounds or harm marks or indicators of battle at the carcass. But still since final two days we're scanning and screening complete house and surrounding.”
