Delhi: Six held for robbing car at gunpoint

NEW DELHI: Six men, including a tennis trainer, had been arrested for allegedly robbing a car at gunpoint after maintaining the driving force of the vehicle hostage in south Delhi's Sarojini Nagar, police said on Friday.

The accused had been recognized as Sandeep (19), a resident of Lodhi Colony, Aamir (19), a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, Rajveer (21), Ram Yadav (20), Shyam Yadav (20) and Rahul Kumar (18), citizens of Kotla Mubarakpur, they said.

The incident took place at the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, said deputy commissioner of police (south) Vijay Kumar.

Murlidhar, the automobile driver, instructed police that 3 men looted Rs five,000 at gunpoint, the DCP said.

They tied his palms with a work of cloth and threw him out of the automobile close to Sarai Kale khan bus terminal, Kumar said.

Police traced the positioning of the automobile which used to be present in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, the DCP said.

On Wednesday, a lure used to be laid and two individuals had been arrested after a temporary chase, he said.

Later, their 4 other friends had been additionally apprehended, police said, including that Sandeep used to offer garden tennis training to medical doctors and interns of AIIMS.

One country-made pistol, two are living cartridges, one knife, 3 cars, 3 two-wheelers and five mobile phones had been seized, the officer added.
