Most Indians spend 6-10 hours on online research to plan holidays

MUMBAI: Almost 42 per cent Indians spend a median six to 10 hours researching online for deals on inns, airlines or combo provides ahead of reserving a week-long vacation, in keeping with a survey.

Around 23 per cent spend 11-30 hours and 20 per cent spend more than 30 hours on research and making plans while reserving a week-long vacation, the survey conducted via Access Media International, on behalf of Expedia, showed.

Interestingly, the survey additionally revealed that 14 per cent respondents have fought with their spouses for spending too much time researching ahead of reserving a holiday.

The survey used to be conducted online from May 30 to June 25, across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune, among 600 employed adults elderly 18 years and above.


It showed that 93 per cent respondents e-book their inns inside a week of reserving their flights tickets.


However, if there's a lodge bargain, 27 per cent would e-book straight away, while a complete of over 90 per cent will e-book inside the be offering period.


The survey additionally revealed that 65 per cent Indians don't take chance to get nice lodge deals.


Out of the 35 per cent keen to take a chance to get excellent lodge deals, 17 per cent waited until the ultimate day to make bookings, 9 per cent booked lodge ahead of approval on their leaves, 6 per cent booked lodge ahead of flight and 4 per cent changed their vacation spot ultimate minute, it added.
