TTE held for molesting woman passenger in Kanpur

KANPUR: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday arrested a railway travelling ticket examiner (TTE) on rate of molesting a woman travelling from Ballia to Jaipur by way of 12403 Allahabad-Jaipur Superfast teach.
The accused has been identified as Nanak Singh, who used to be on duty in the same trainer. The girl had RAC ticket and used to be seated in third AC trainer when the alleged incident took place.

According to the complaint filed through the lady with GRP Kanpur Central, Singh on duty boarded her trainer and allegedly molested her.

However, the TTE has denied the rate. "The TTE stated that the woman passenger had asked him to give her a confirmed seat. As he was busy checking the ticket, he asked her to wait on seat no: 7 of the third AC coach. When he returned to the seat, the woman mistook him to be a molester and raised an alarm. The other passengers rushed to her rescue and after thrashing the TTE, alerted the GRP control room. Some passengers also tweeted to the rail minister," mentioned GRP.

At round three.30 am when the teach arrived at Kanpur Central, TTE used to be passed over to GRP.

"A case has been registered underneath related sections of IPC and the TTE is being questioned,” mentioned GRP inspector Ram Mohan Rai.
