2 women held with gold in private parts

MUMBAI: Four individuals who allegedly tried to smuggle in more than 6.4 kg of gold value Rs 1.80 crore have been arrested on the city airport on Tuesday in two circumstances. Besides, 1 kg of gold value Rs 27 lakh was found beneath a seat of an aircraft.

In the primary case, Customs officers arrested two Sudanese women, Nada Omer and Manal Omer Mahmoud, who had arrived from Sharjah with 1.4 kg gold value Rs 40 lakh. Each girl had concealed six gold biscuits in her personal portions. The women have been going past the steel detector when it beeped. Frisking them printed gold concealed on their individual.

The women surrendered the gold and have been arrested and launched on bail. In the second one case, officers caught one of the most two smugglers as he was leaving the airport premises. The officers got an input from the passenger’s associate, Hafiz Abdurrub, who arrived from Dubai and was caught with 2kg of gold bars in the undergarments.

He told officers about his associate. Officials nabbed Sheq Irfan near the exit gate and recovered three kg gold from him. The two had been despatched to custody. Officials seized 1 kg of gold value Rs 27 lakh saved below the seat of a aircraft that had arrived from Dubai.
