Expect wet days in Mum again from Sunday: Met

MUMBAI: Following this week’s dry spell, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai has forecast for some heavy rain within the Konkan region on June 17. Mumbai falls underneath the Konkan belt. IMD officers said that showers could continue on June 18 as well.

Mumbai has remained dry because the beginning of the week after heavy rain was once recorded on June nine. The onset of monsoon was once also declared on this present day.


Ajay Kumar, a scientist from IMD Mumbai, said that isolated heavy rain might be anticipated over Konkan on June 17 and heavy to very heavy rain on June 18. “There is a circulation within the North Arabian space which could purpose showers within the city,” he said.


The IMD Santacruz and Colaba observatories on Thursday recorded some passing showers. For Friday, the IMD Mumbai has forecast one or two spells of rain or showers to occur in city and suburbs. With no rain within the city, the maximum temperatures that had dropped around 28 degrees Celsius on June nine rose again.



On Thursday, the maximum temperatures recorded by way of IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatories was once 33.five degrees and 34 degrees. The relative humidity degree also remained high with the IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatories recording 78% and 67%.
