Delhi: Temp dips after storm, rain likely today

NEW DELHI: The capital witnessed yet another thunderstorm on Thursday night time, with skies changing into overcast round 5pm as wind speed went as much as 50-70 km/hr. The mercury ranges, which had touched a maximum of 41.2 degrees Celsius right through the day, fell to round 30 degrees C as robust winds have been felt throughout NCR. However, officers say its depth was once much lesser as in comparison to ultimate two dust storms recorded during the last week.

Officials from the regional Met administrative center say Delhi is more likely to witness a thunderstorm accompanied with squall on Friday and Saturday as neatly, then again, day time temperature will continue to stay above 40 degrees C. “We will see cloudy prerequisites via the night time on Friday with a possibility of thunderstorm and squall via night time or evening. There will also be some light rain,” said a senior Met reputable.

Met administrative center said that wind speed touched 72 km/hr at Palam whilst a maximum speed of 71 km/hr was once recorded at Safdarjung, with both places recording a trace of rainfall as neatly. IGI airport also saw visibility drop following this, coming down from 4000 metres to round 1500 metres. “Thunderstorm and lightweight rain continued till 7.45 pm with gusty winds of 65km/hr. Officials said the weather task will also be attributed to a western disturbance with easterly winds and prime temperature in the area creating excellent prerequisites for such localised storms.
