Youth attacks Chennai college girl

CHENNAI: A 17-year-old school lady suffered injuries on her left hand after being attacked via a formative years at Ayanavaram here on Tuesday morning.
Police arrested the attacker, Solomon Raja, 23, of Salai Street at Ayanavaram.

Raja was in love with Sunitha (name changed) whom he had identified since their faculty days, police said. He attacked Sunitha since she had been avoiding him for the final two months. Sunitha, who is finding out in a school at Egmore, didn’t like his actions and began avoiding him.

Raja had been stalking her for the final one month asking for the reason for avoiding him, police said.

On Tuesday, he carried a paper cutter in conjunction with him when he got here to meet her. Since she failed to reply, he took out the paper cutter and tried to stab her. When Sunitha resisted his attempt, she suffered injuries on her left hand.

Hearing Sunitha’s cries, other people got here to her rescue. They took her to a private medical institution.

Based on her complaint, police arrested Raja.
