HYDERABAD: Residents and commuters passing through Autonagar dump whinge of rancid smell and worry diseases.
Carcasses being dumped at Autonagar dump yard has been haunting locals for decades. “We are not able to undergo the stench emanating from the dump. Autonagar is no more an abandoned position at the outskirts. It is now home to government employees, techies and engineering scholars, whose colleges are located in Ibrahimpatnam,” Anil Goud M, a resident of LB Nagar, stated.

A senior citizen, who was passing through that space, stated the dump would possibly reason air-borne and vector-borne diseases.

A girl, asking for anonymity, stated, “We purchased our area a long way away from the city for a pollution-free environment and clean air, however our goal was defeated.”

Autonagar dump, unfold over 40 acres, was a major dumping flooring earlier than Jawaharnagar was identified as a garbage dump. At the dump yard, part of the premises was marked as carcass utilisation centre. After the Jawaharnagar dump yard was set up, instructions had been issued to offload all garbage generated within the city at the yard, however carcasses till date had been being despatched to Autonagar.

According to GHMC officials, the Autonagar yard can be shifted to Chengicherla quickly as an abattoir already exists there.“The set-up to dispose animal waste has already been built at Chengicherla,” GHMC, deputy commissioner, Hayatnagar, Mukund Reddy stated.
