Railways serve dead butterfly in masala dosa

LUDHIANA: The masala-dosa lunch Indian Railways guard Balraj Kichi opted for on the New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express on Saturday afternoon was no longer in reality an appetising one. Just when the train was about to chug into the Ludhiana railway station, Kichi was served a packed meal, but it had a problem — there was a lifeless butterfly within the sambar.

A visibly distraught Kichi first approached railways officers on the station. When they did not respond, he took to Twitter to express his anguish, posting a photograph of the meal on the micro-blogging web page and tagging the ministry of railways, divisional railways supervisor and Northern Railways in it. “When i used to be about to eat the meal, I noticed the lifeless butterfly floating within the sambar; it angered me. How are they preparing the meals and how can a butterfly input sambar. There are playing with the health of thousands of passengers,” he mentioned.

Kichi claimed that he had approached the railway authorities at Ludhiana station sooner than posting the tweet, but they did not respond “accurately”. “They were not taking the subject significantly, and this loss of seriousness mirrored within the meals,” he mentioned.

When contacted, Ludhiana station superintendent Ashok Salaria showed that Kichi had approached him with the grievance of a lifeless butterfly being found in his meal. “I had advised him to put up a written grievance, in order that shall we take it up with higher-up. However, he did not do this and went on along with his journey with out submitting a grievance,” he mentioned.
