COIMBATORE: In a move to inspire artists and create platform to exhibit and promote their works, the state govt has determined to behavior art exhibitions within the respective regions from this 12 months.
Earlier, the arts and tradition division held the exhibition most effective within the state-level. However, from this 12 months, for Coimbatore region comprising Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Nilgiris, the exhibition could be held in Coimbatore, said an reputable verbal exchange.

B Hemanathan, assistant director of arts and tradition, Coimbatore region said the state has taken this initiative to cheer up artists from all regions of the state. "A total of 10 exhibitions will be held in seven regions and three fine arts colleges in the state soon. A fund of Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned for this," he said. Hemanathan said even though the exhibition will be held in Coimbatore, artists from Tirupur, Erode and Nilgiris (Coimbatore region) can follow to take part.


Artists prepared to take part within the exhibition will have to send a picture of their art work together with a short biographical write-up, Hemanathan defined. "A committee will select the artworks to be displayed at the exhibition," he said. "It will be a three-day event where artists also can sell their works," he said including that the chosen artistic endeavors will even obtain money prizes and certificates.


The closing day to publish the details of the artistic endeavors is April 30, a verbal exchange from the district collectorate said. The arts and tradition division has been planning to behavior an arts competition in May. "The exhibition might be held along with the festival," Hemanathan said including that the venue for the development is yet to be determined. While the exhibition is being held in Coimbatore this 12 months, the dep. would possibly grasp it in every other district in Coimbatore region in the future, he said.
