No salary if property return not filed, Gujarat chief secretary tells officials

AHMEDABAD: The April salaries of state govt officers will probably be withheld if they've no longer filed their annual assets returns by April 10, Gujarat leader secretary J N Singh stated on Saturday.
“Salaries of Class 1 and Class 2 staff of the state govt for April, payable in May, will probably be withheld if they've no longer filed their annual assets returns,” Singh told journalists in Gandhinagar.

He stated that withholding salaries used to be step one and going ahead promotions, coaching and empanelment could also be affected,


Singh stated that around three,000 of the 10,000-12,000 Class 1 and Class 2 officials of the state govt had no longer yet filed their returns for the monetary 12 months 2017-18.


“The general administration wepartment has written to the finance division, asking it to withhold salaries of these staff. We hope those officials will record the valuables returns in the next week. If they do so, we might consider freeing their wage,” he stated.


“We are very transparent that staff right here should record annual assets returns, as the ones in the all-India products and services do,” he stated.
