Five assembly segments in Mysuru identified ‘expenditure-sensitive’ in Mysuru

Mysuru: As many as 5 constituencies in Mysuru district, including Chamundeshwari, the place leader minister Siddaramaiah is contesting the elections from, had been recognized as expenditure-sensitive.
The Election Commission has appointed one expenditure observer each for all the 5 constituencies – Krishnaraja, Varuna, T Narasipura and Chamundeshwari. Incidentally, Siddaramaiah’s son Yathindra Siddaramaiah is contesting the election from Varuna.

Mysuru district, which has a complete of 11 meeting constituencies, has been allotted 19 observers, including nine basic ones. The observers will monitor political actions and expenditure of the applicants. Nomination of the applicants will start from Tuesday, and continue till April 24.

Deputy commissioner KB Sivakumar, additionally election officer for Mysuru, on Monday stated that, “Five segments in the district were recognized as expenditure-sensitive, and we will be able to keep a detailed watch on them.”

Sources claimed that the appointment of an observer to each constituency was once indicative of the complexities involved.

Swarup Kumar Paul has been appointed as basic observer and Dhrubajyothi Roy as Expenditure observer to Chamundeshwari.
