DK district will have 20 pink polling stations with 5 in city

MANGALURU: The Election Commission will arrange 20 crimson polling stations with all women personnel in Dakshina Kannada district.
District electoral officer S Sasikanth Senthil mentioned five polling stations each in Mangaluru City South, Mangaluru City North and Mangaluru constituencies might be declared as crimson booths.

Belthangady, Moodbidri, Bantwal, Puttur and Sullia, too, will get one crimson polling station each. St Victoria Girls High School, Lady Hill, DKZP Higher Primary Schools in Bejai, Gandhinagar, St Aloysius Higher Primary School, Urwa and Government Girls PU College, Balmatta of Mangaluru South constituency will be the crimson polling stations within the city.

The DC mentioned the election commission will even arrange five ethnic polling stations within the district. Ethnic polling stations might be set up to promote the regional way of life and ethnicity. DKZP Higher Primary School, Neriya, DKZP Model Higher Primary School, Bellayur, Kendriya Model Residential School, Madhya, Surathkal, DKZP Upgraded Higher Primary School, Balnadu and DKZP Higher Primary School, Subrahmanya, have been identified to arrange the ethnic polling stations, he added.

In addition, the Election Commission also has plans to set 2-Three style polling stations within the district. Senthil mentioned the style polling stations can have all amenities including reception area with chairs, specifically deputed personnel to help electorate and different amenities. The district administration has also identified 10,300 bodily challenged electorate and all preparations might be made to deliver them to polling stations on May 12. Plans are on anvil to introduce transportation to polling stations in faraway spaces. In addition, there's a proposal to make election a festival. People might be requested to embellish their premises all the way through election, the DC mentioned.

Officials have been seeking to include beggars within the rehabilitation centre. It might be conceivable only if the ones beggars within the rehabilitation centre are mentally sound.
