College student held for snatching phone

CHENNAI: The police arrested two individuals, together with a faculty scholar, for snatching a mobile phone from a pedestrian at Red Hills on Friday.
The incident happened when 33-year-old wood worker Paranthaman, a resident of Bhavani Nagar at Red Hills, was taking a stroll at the road close to Thiruvallur junction.


The two had been identified as Sugumar, 22, finding out in a faculty at Maduravoyal, and his affiliate, a 17-year-old finding out at an ITI institute in the town. The two had been on a motorbike. The pillion rider snatchedthe mobile phone from Paranthaman.


As soon as the 2 snatched the phone from Paranthaman, he raised the alarm. The native citizens chased the duo on their bikes and caught them. They thrashed them sooner than handing them over to the police.


The police recovered a stolen mobile phone and a motorbike from them.


The police are also inquiring if the 2 had been keen on identical offences in the town.
