BJP second list prolongs anxiety for aspirants, cadre in coastal stronghold

MANGALURU/UDUPI: BJP's second record of 82-candidates released by means of its central election committee, headed by means of JP Nadda, on Monday has only extended the nervousness for its rank and document in its coastal stronghold. With names for 3 key-constituencies in Dakshina Kannada and two in Udupi now likely to determine only in the 3rd record, the wait is seeming by no means finishing.
The notification to constitute the 224-member state legislature is all set to be made on April 17.

If S Angara, V Sunil Kumar and Haladi Srinivas Shetty from Sullia, Karkal and Kundapur respectively had been the names that figured in first record, central election committee cleared names of Harish Poonja, Umanath Kotian, U Rajesh Naik and Sanjeeva Mattandoor for Belthangady, Mulki-Moodbidri, Bantwal and Puttur meeting constituencies in Dakshina Kannada district. B Sukumar Shetty was once the only real name that figured in the record of 82 from Byndoor in Udupi district.

Incidentally, Sanjeeva Mattandoor, also president of DK district unit of BJP advised TOI that the committee will announce names for the two dominantly city constituencies of Mangaluru City South and City North and predominantly rural constituency of Mangaluru in an afternoon or two. “From my figuring out, the birthday party management is having a look at ensuring social justice in its choice of names for these three key constituencies and which will have triggered the lengthen,” he mentioned.

His Udupi counterpart Uday Kumar Shetty mentioned there appears to be some confusion over the birthday party’s selection for Udupi seat lately represented by means of Minister Pramod Madhwaraj. The birthday party chose B Sukumar Shetty, particular invitee to state government committee to tackle Gopal Poojary of Congress in Byndoor. The committee is anticipated to finalise the name of former MLA Lalaji Mendon for the Kaup constituency to square off against former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

In Puttur, Mattandoor will tackle former birthday party MLA Shakuntala T Shetty, whom Congress has re-nominated. For Belthangady, BJP has opted for district Yuva Morcha chief Harish Poonja to tackle seasoned Vasanth Bangera of the Congress. In Mulki-Moodbidri Umanath Kotian, normal secretary of district unit will fight former minister Abhayachandra Jain and U Rajesh Naik, invitee to district government committee will fight district minister B Ramanath Rai.
