Tusker found dead in farmland near Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: A male elephant used to be discovered lifeless in a farmland at Mathipalayam in Madhukkarai vary on Wednesday morning. Forest officials mentioned it could be a case of electrocution. They would guide the farmer after gathering evidences.

Forest officials mentioned the 20-year-old tusker had wandering within the area for the previous three months. It used to be a crop raider.

Around 6am, the locals discovered the carcass of the elephant and informed the woodland officials who reached the spot instantly.

“We have carried out postmortem, and we expect this is a case of electrocution. Based at the studies and evidences, we will be able to take felony action,” mentioned conservator of Coimbatore circle S Ramasubramanian.

Last 12 months, five elephants including two claves have been electrocuted in Coimbatore area, mentioned woodland officials. “We booked a case in opposition to two farmers,” mentioned an authentic.
