Rs 320cr to acquire land for ring road project

Coimbatore: The state government has sanctioned Rs 320 crore to obtain 355.five acres in 16 villages within the district to build the 32.43km Western Ring Road. The four-lane street would allow motorists from south-west Coimbatore to achieve the northern part without entering town. Also, tourists from Kerala on the best way to Ooty and Mettupalayam may have a hassle-free adventure as soon as the road is completed.

The ring street would start from Sugunapuram near Kuniyamuthur on Coimbatore-Palakkad Road and would succeed in Narasimmanaickenpalayam through Sundakkamuthur, Perur, Theethipalayam, Madampatti, Pannimadai, Gudalur and Narasimmanaickenpalayam. To put into effect the venture, the state government is making plans to obtain 355.6 acres at Kuniyamuthur, Madukkarai, Sundakkamuthur, Perur, Perur Chettipalayam, Vadavalli, Narasimmanaickenpalayam, Gudalur, Pannimadai, Nanjundapuram, Chithiraichavadi West, Kalikkanaickenpalayam, Madampatti, Theethipalayam, Kavundampalayam and Somayampalayam. These 16 villages fall beneath Madukkarai, Perur and Coimbatore North taluks.

The state government had allotted Rs 825 crore for the road venture closing 12 months. Two devices, consisting of special tahsildars Raja and Muruganandam, and land surveyors had began survey a month in the past. The earnings division will soon factor notification to the land homeowners to obtain the wanted land for the venture soon, assets stated.

Collector TN Hariharan performed a gathering with the earnings division officers and state highways division officers at his camp administrative center at Race Course on Tuesday night and urged them to expedite land acquisition.
