Gujarat government got no central funds for flood relief as demanded in 2015, '17

GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat govt on Tuesday admitted in the Legislative Assembly that while the state demanded a Rs 2,094.92 crore flood relief package deal from the BJP-led central govt remaining 12 months, no price range were received as of December.
The BJP govt in the state also mentioned that it had demanded Rs four,473.47 crore as a relief package deal after the 2015 floods, but no price range got.

Congress MLA Chandanji Thakor had sought to know whether the Centre alloted any price range for flood-relief as demanded by means of the state.

Thakor, who represents Siddhpur seat of Patan district, also requested whether those price range, if received, have been alloted to Banaskantha and Patan districts which were affected the most throughout remaining 12 months's floods.

In his written reply, Revenue Minister Kaushik Patel mentioned no price range have been alloted to the 2 districts, as the state govt's call for for Rs 2,094.92 crore is "still under the consideration of the central government" as of December 2017.

To a an identical question, Patel mentioned regardless that the state govt had sought Rs four,473.47 crore for flood relief in 2015, no price range have been received even then.


Congress MLA from Patan, Kirit Patel, had sought main points of central price range received for relief following the floods in 2015.


The minister's written reply mentioned the state demanded Rs four,473.47 crore via a proposal despatched in September 2015.


However, bringing up some criterion about disbursement of relief price range, the Centre knowledgeable in December 2015 that Gujarat used to be no longer eligible to get the money, it mentioned.
