MANGALURU: Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development has expressed its severe disappointment with wholesale acquittal of all accused in Amnesia Pub attack of 2009. This outcome is entirely unexpected and Forum had was hoping for strictest punishment for to blame as according to legislation. The Forum demand that state govt take measure to enchantment the existing judgment and make every effort possible to prove guilt of the accused and ensure reliable punishment for them.

Amnesia Pub Attack had made global headlines because of graphic violence and the world had observed are living TV footage of brutal attack on younger women, the Forum coordinator Vidya Dinker mentioned in a joint communiqué with other office bearers. Newspapers had carried images of accused beating the victims. It is distressing to notice than regardless of such robust video/photographic proof and a tribulation lasting just about 10 years, prosecution has failed to convey the to blame to justice.

The Amnesia 'Pub Attack' marked onset of immoral policing in Mangaluru which has destroyed foundations of civic freedoms on this region and allowed felony tradition to flourish and terrorise the younger and electorate on the whole, with political backing. The present judicial outcome of acquittal of all of the accused will unquestionably ship a wrong message to society that criminals can get away scot loose. It will undermine public self belief in legislation of the land.

It may even undermine ability of legislation to protect our civic rights. Young electorate who are picking up the braveness to talk out and bitch against immoral goons will be pushed into silence again, the communiqué famous. It has been reported that in many media interactions, Sri Rama Sene’s Pramod Mutalik had himself made statements accepting guilt of the accused. After being acquitted, he has been brazen enough to have fun his ‘victory’.

Media reviews indicate right here again he has made statements tantamount to accepting guilt for the pub attack. All this only makes a mockery of the felony justice gadget, the communiqué mentioned, including the Forum urges the state govt to pursue the matter seriously and straight away take steps to strive and opposite the judgment by addressing all of the loopholes and shortcomings of the case.
