Demonetised notes: Court reserves order on bail plea

KANPUR: District and classes pass judgement on, Kanpur Nagar, Shashi Kant Shukla, on Tuesday reserved order on the bail software of accused Anand Khatri and Mohit Dhingra from whom the police had seized an enormous cache of demonetised foreign money notes to the song of Rs 96.14 crore. The duo was once arrested by way of the police on January 17.
Additional district govt suggest (ADGC), Asif Ali, whilst opposing the bail software of two accused, pleaded that as the crime pertained to violation of SBN Act, therefore, the bail programs of all of the six accused had been liable to be rejected.

When the pass judgement on requested why the accused had gathered the demonetised foreign money notes, the defence failed to respond and satisfy the courtroom. The courtroom thereafter reserved the order, the ADGC stated.


The police had arrested 16 persons, including a builder Anand Khatri in reference to the seizure of over Rs 96 crore in demonetised foreign money notes from the builder's ancestral area in Swaroop Nagar.


The district pass judgement on had earlier rejected the bail software of six co-accused on this case on February 28 closing.


Initially, the police had arrested 4 persons and their interrogation led to the arrest of alternative persons and restoration of previous foreign money notes stashed in gunny bags.
