Cong, JD(S) charge a premium for tickets, BJP ‘selects’ by referral system

Bengaluru: Political events in the state have followed different methods to verify they hand out assembly elections tickets to simply those who are ‘severe’ about their poll possibilities and have the ‘starvation’ to win. From charging a stiff price from applicants to a referral machine and from seeking ground-level reinforce to involving a seek committee, all events are looking at candidates who can win.
The Congress had long gone the price manner, charging Rs 25,000 according to application for normal class candidates, Rs 15,000 for SC/ST and Rs 1 lakh for ministers. The Congress has reportedly mobilised Rs 6 crore via packages on my own.

The JD(S), being a regional celebration and considered to be in a ‘league’ below the two nationwide events in the fray in the case of the events’ price range, is charging Rs 20,000 according to price ticket for normal class candidates and Rs 15,000 according to SC/ST and women candidates. The celebration has given out 378 packages till date.

The BJP, on the other hand, has followed a ‘referral machine’ to make a choice their candidates. The celebration will select candidates in keeping with “references” given through its Mandal committees in the entire 224 assembly segments. The Mandal committees will refer candidates to the district committees, who will scrutinize packages and references and ship them on to the state-level committee.

BJP aspirants are also dealing with intense competition from aspirants of the Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) and Badavara Shamikara Raithara (BSR) Congress. The founder-leaders of those events — B S Yeddyurappa and B Sriramulu respectively — returned to the BJP fold and their cadres have merged with the saffron outfit.

For smaller political outfits just like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), finding appropriate candidates has raised issues of a distinct type. “With our stringent scrutiny processes, and our stand of not allowing folks with felony backgrounds to stand from the celebration, we're dependent on our seek committees to spot supreme candidates,” said Prithvi Reddy, AAP co-convenor.
