CoA asks ACU to investigate fixing charges against Shami

MUMBAI: Indian pacer Mohammed Shami’s troubles are mounting by way of the day. On Wednesday morning, the Supreme Court-run Committee of Administrators (CoA) head Vinod Rai wrote an email (a duplicate is with TOI) to ACU head Neeraj Kumar, asking him to research these fees and submit a record inside every week. The mail has also been marked to the entire office-bearers of the BCCI and CEO, Rahul Johri.

“This has connection with the more than a few media reports bearing on allegations against Shami. The CoA has listened to the audio recording of a telephonic dialog which it is claimed is between Shami and his spouse. The mentioned audio recording is to be had in public domain. The CoA is concerned only with such portion of the mentioned audio recording through which the one that it is claimed is Shami is heard pronouncing someone else by way of the title of “Mohammed Bhai” had despatched money to Shami through a Pakistani woman by way of the title of “Alisba,” writes Rai.

Jahan has alleged that Shami may well be considering match-fixing as he authorized money from a Pakistani woman named Alisbah in Kolkata after being convinced by way of one England-based Mohammad Bhai.

Spelling out the areas which Kumar needs to probe on this case, Rai says: “Please investigate the above assertions/ allegations beneath the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code and submit a report to the CoA with your findings as to whether there may be any basis to proceed additional in phrases thereof.

“Since the CoA has decided to carry again Shami’s player contract pending submission of your record as aforesaid, you're requested to submit the mentioned record on the earliest and ideally no later than seven days from nowadays,” writes the CoA head.

Rai then concludes his email by way of asking Kumar to limit his probe only to the problems pointed out by way of him, unless he reveals something which is throughout the scope of the BCCI’s anti-corruption code.

“The CoA needs to emphasize that the investigation be restricted to the above problems only and no longer maintain any of the other allegations against Shami unless you to find that the same fall throughout the purview of the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code,” he says.

Reportedly, the Kolkata Police has written a letter to the Board to inquire about his shuttle main points after the final T20I event in South Africa. On March 16, the IPL governing Council, in a meeting here, is set to speak about whether or not Shami can take part in IPL-11 after the Delhi Daredevils requested for clarity at the issue.
