2,929 people from M’luru participate in Swachh Survekshan-2018

Mangaluru: While Mysuru tops the checklist with 15,088 comments received from electorate on the standing of cleanliness and sanitation underneath the Swachh Survekshan-2018, 2,929 people from Mangaluru participated within the survey, placing the port city within the fourth place in terms of choice of people collaborating in it.

Mangaluru is a competitor within the ‘Swachh Survekshan –2018’, the third cleanliness survey launched by means of the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA). The survey has received comments from 1,613 residents from Ullal, the town municipality in minister U T Khader’s constituency in Dakshina Kannada district. While Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation has occupied the second place with five,628 comments from residents, Shivamogga City Municipality and Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) stood third and fourth respectively. The survey noticed participation of 3,587 people from Shivamogga.


However, the survey evoked a reaction from most effective 2,808 people from the capital city of Bengaluru, which has a large inhabitants in comparison to other towns of the state. A complete 1,10,117 people from 277 urban native bodies in Karnataka have participated within the online survey that closed on March 11. Madhu S Manohar, environment engineer of MCC, told TOI that Mangaluru used to be one amongst 27 towns within the state to take part within the Swachh Survekshan campaign of the MoHUA in the second survey held in 2017.
