IAF chopper crashes in Assam, 2 dead

GUWAHATI: A microlight helicopter of the Indian Air Force with two pilots on board crashed on Thursday in Assam's Majuli island, killing both.
Police within the island district confirmed the incident and the deaths.


The incident took place at Sumoimari Chapori, a police officer mentioned, including that Defence and IAF team of workers have been on their solution to Majuli.


Initial document says the chopper which took off from Rowriah airport in Assam's Jorhat district with two pilots crash landed at a remote sand island on Brahmaputra underneath Majuli district at 1.30pm. District officers mentioned they're speeding to the spot. The chopper used to be flying to Arunachal Pradesh.


It is suspected that the crash took place due to technical reasons, the officer added.
