Centre to reimburse J&K for compensation paid to victims of cross-border firing

NEW DELHI: The Centre on Monday mentioned it will reimburse the Jammu and Kashmir govt for the compensation it pays to victims of cross-border firing, reported news company ANI.

The funds will be allotted by way of the ministry of home affairs.

Pakistan has steadily violated the ceasefire since January 1, targeting ahead Indian posts and civilian areas along the International Border and Line of Control. At least 10,000 civilians dwelling with regards to the border have been relocated to safer puts.

In fact, on February 24, ahead of it unleashed intense firing and shelling on Silkote and Churanda villages, the Pakistani Army used loudspeakers to urge the citizens of the twin villages to vacate the area.


The assault completely destroyed five houses.


Till January 22 this 12 months, incidents of cross-border firing had claimed 15 lives.
