Army foils infiltration bid along LoC in Poonch

JAMMU: The Army has foiled an infiltration strive by a group of terrorists alongside the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior Army officer mentioned on Thursday.
"Suspicious movements by a group of four to five terrorists were noticed along LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch during the night," the officer mentioned.

Alert troops engaged the suspected terrorists and fired on them, he mentioned adding that the troops foiled their try to go over the LoC.


A seek operation is underneath method in the house. Further details had been awaited, he mentioned.


The incident came about as the security forces struggle higher makes an attempt by terrorist groups to focus on them in Jammu and Kashmir.


Last week, Jaish-e-Muhammed terrorists centered an Army camp in Sunjuwan in Jammu by which six squaddies and a civilian had been killed.


On Monday, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Karan Nagar house in Srinagar. After a 32-hour gunbattle, security forces killed the attackers.
