Allahabad: People offer prayers to Lord Shiva on second day of Mahashivratri celebrations

ALLAHABAD: The competition of providing prayers to Lord Shiva, Mahashivratri, was noticed in the city, on Wednesday too. This was the second one day in continuation when the competition was noticed through the devotees of the Sangam city.


Since morning the devotees, including each men and women, were observed forming a bee line in entrance of various temples of the city. The rush of devotees was more at the major Shiva temples of the city despite the fact that the smaller temples too were thronged through the devotees.


On the instance, large number of devotees arrived at the Magh Mela area and took a holy dip in river Ganga. The devotees presented prayers in the Shiva temple located at the Sangam area. Carrying more than a few pieces like bel go away, dhatura, milk, and Ganga's water, they bathed their deity and presented these things. Almost each temple of the city witnessed vendors selling these things outside the temple.


Celebrating the day, a gaggle of scholars from the department of excellent arts of Allahabad University made an enormous sculpture of lord Shiva at the sandy banks of Sangam. People coming to the realm all the way through night hours visited the art work of the students and favored the similar.
